Privacy policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains how Next Step Marketing collects and uses personal data when you use this website or get in touch with us. We are the data controller for the information described below.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through the enquiry forms on this site. Depending on which form you use, that is:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your business or brand name, and where relevant your role or type of business
- Your current email platform, where you tell us
- Anything you write in the message field
Our forms also record technical information sent automatically by your browser, including your IP address and user agent. This is used to filter spam submissions.
Why we use it
We use this information for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if it leads somewhere, to discuss working together. We do not sell your data, and we will not add you to a marketing list from a contact form submission without asking you first.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interest, specifically responding to a business enquiry you have initiated. Where we later send you marketing, we will rely on your consent and you can withdraw it at any time.
Who processes it
We use a small number of third party services to run this website. Each acts as a processor on our behalf:
- Netlify hosts this website and processes form submissions. Submissions are stored in our Netlify account.
- Google Analytics may be used to understand how the site is used, in aggregate. This is only active where analytics are enabled and where you have accepted it.
- Klaviyo is our email platform. It is only used to hold your details where you have signed up to hear from us.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the safeguards those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as they are commercially useful, and reviewed periodically. If an enquiry does not lead to work, we delete it once it is clearly no longer relevant. If you become a client, records are kept for the duration of our work together and for as long as we are required to keep business records afterwards.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it elsewhere. To exercise any of these, email cameron@nextstep-marketing.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising cookies. Where analytics are enabled, a small number of cookies may be used to measure site usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use the site or submit an enquiry.
